Microsoft Hololens and Unity. How is it works?

Hi All,
I am very excited to making games with Unity and Hololens but I am new in this topic and I am confusing myself because Microsoft Hololens is AR and the games are VR, for it and sorry for my ignorance but Does Unity and Hololens let us build VR games? or What way it would be?
Finally and since I have seen that Unity website notice us about Hololens support soon. Does anybody know about when the Hololens will be ready for Unity?

Hololens and Unity would make AR games. There is no VR with the hololens. It should work with Unity when it gets released for developers.

Thanks for your answer.
So, Unity and Hololens let us make AR games only but now and sorry for my ignorance , I am thinking about the adventage to build a AR game with Hololens/Unity since a game is Virtual Scenary and AR is a mix between Reality and Virtual Scenary but maybe I am making a mistake, if it is like that, please let me know it.
