MineBlend

Hi guys, so I had an idea for blender, but Im not sure if it will work as I expect, so I thought it would be best to ask here. So I was thinking, could I make a massive building in minecraft, use a tool like Mineblender to export it into blender, which means I have a fully enter-able building in blender, make it a bit smoother, and then I have an (untextured) building for my game. Would this work very well?

Is this what you mean?

This is the only useful search result I could find.

I would be interested in knowing this as well. I do not know if Blender has a snap to grid option available. If it does you can build a structure similarly to Minecraft inside of Blender by duplicating square blocks and snapping them to one another. I am however unsure if an exported structure from Minecraft will still retain multiple objects, or if it will be exported as one whole object. A wall created inside of Blender can have six sides each representing a quad or set of triangles which would not have as many polygons since any edges would be bridged.

It would be my opinion that if it works but say a wall made of 10x10 blocks would have many more faces than a polygonal cube that can be scaled to imitate that part of a structure and will have fewer polygons and object groups. For example, if one polygonal cube has six sides it has six quads, and twelve triangles. That multiplied by ten would be unnecessary if it indeed exports all shapes individually.

I look forward to knowing more myself. It would be fun to play for a while and in the process build a structure that can be exported for another use.
