Hi folks,
Posting this the second time. The first one went into oblivion by reasons unknown.
Not sure where I should’ve posted this for it’s not a preview as such, nor a technical question.
As a way to chill out and relax I was working (and still am) on this project for a few years and finally
decided to meet some folks in the gamedev community. I’m an Oracle guy who played with 3D
all my life (OpenGL, Unreal, Unity) and now when I’ve (feel) reached quite an advanced stage
of being a hobbist it seems to be the time to say hello, so to speak.
It’s a dynamically generated world with decent building tools. Not much at first glance
but given its size, math and technical problems are serious when you want it in real time.
Sorry for not giving any sceenshots or vids, but being a one man orchestra I simply have
no time for that. Below is the link to 32bit version which is pretty fast despite extesive
double math. It comes with parts of a pregenerated world just to make it simpler. If you
want a world of your own, delete a_Data/Saved Chunks/chunks.db and restart the game.
Thank you for your time and if you have some ideas about sandbox games I’d be really glad
to here from you.
P.S. Showed this to a couple of gamedev companies here in Russia with a very surprising
result - they won’t impressed at all, not that I was trying to impress, just was interested
in a “pofessional” opinion of ppl making games for living…
