So my game is done and I have one map for it. It is alright but I am more of a programmer so nothing that I would put in a final build. So the point I am trying to get to here is that I have a few friends who like to build massive buildings and maps in Minecraft. I know how to convert a map into a model and all that. I just don’t know if I can use the same textures and some of the more detailed models in my game. Could I just make my own texture pack? (If you don’t know that is, it is one image that is used for all the textures in the game, changing them would change the look of the whole game) What exactly can I and can I not use? Is there a way to get around the copyright if there is one?
Their EULA protects their textures and code so no, you cannot use them. It seems like models created from a minecraft world that you have created are not covered. However Mojang does have the rights to any content you create inside Minecraft so there could be a conflict there.
