I was just starting to fill in the details for a Steam store page and I hit the “Minimum Requirements” section. It occurred to me - do Unity themselves maintain a minimum system requirements outline for games built with Unity (5.x for example), in so far as the OS’s that the built game will run on? A Windows build, for example, will it run on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10? For MacOS, is there a minimum version requirement?
I thought they might also have a baseline RAM, CPU, etc stat too (e.g. even an empty scene with just a cube in it will require 1.5GB of RAM). Not sure if that’s the case though (i.e. that they have a hardware requirement worked out)?
Their little blurb on that page is confident Unity will run everywhere depending on the complexity of the project. I’m sceptical of that as I’ve had 5.x builds fail to run on my netbook, which only has 1 gig of ram (running windows 10, which probably sucks up all the resources).
If you’re looking for system requirements for and older version you might find it on the wayback machine here, Wayback Machine but Unity doesn’t seem to maintain the information themselves.
