So basically i am trying to map my textures onto my model correctly and i noticed certain areas were tinted with colours which were incorrect. So i applied a new texture and it did nothing. I attempted to solve this by looking at other posts but i couldnt find exactly the same thing occuring in any of them, could somebody explain how i can fix this? Below is a display of the model witha fully white colour. (It can’t be the material because this happens with all of them)
I feel like this is a light source issue (high emission temperature or filter color). Maybe try a new scene and add the model. Also add a cube with a basic white material. If both models still looks purple then it might be a global post processing setting. You could also look at just making a new project and importing the models again.
Yesah i can confirm its definitely not the light source as it doesent happen on literally any other model and this is my light.
i’ve tried a lot of them but the tint is addative for some reason. I also tried the cube but yup its still fully white and definitely just a pure white abledo texture. But i don’t follow what you mean by “Global post processing”. If you’re still available could ypu tell me more about that?
I also tried reinporting without any changes and it did nothing as well as changing the material creation mode in import setting to none, it hasn’t worked
Also i have tested it in blender and its not there
I think i found the issue. Its to do with the materials. I am limited to only using vrchat provided materials which all have this issue. I applied a deafult shaded object and it worked to fix it. But now idk how to solve the problem with theese required materials ![]()
Good to know it’s a material issue. Looking at the light image I’m guessing your using Unity’s Built-in Render Pipeline and not URP. I’m guessing the vrchat shader is more of a toon shader so it might be picking up more of the color tint from the light source. From you light image it looks like your light color is purple, maybe try changing this to white. Another thing that might be worth checking is if the color space is linear or gamma. Some toon shaders prefer gamma as it doesn’t alter the colors. Project settings/Player/Other settings/Color space.
Just tried, didn’t work. It looks the exact same
I’ve never used VR chat before. I’m guessing you need to use a specific material for exporting. Kind of hard to know what to fix on a material. It might be worth comparing it to another sample model that uses the same shader. Toon shaders can require special setups sometimes that can take a bit to setup e.g. vertex colors might be required. Maybe mention the shader your using and hopefully someone more familiar with it could help.
since this a vrchat thing maybe check some youtube tutorials on how it works in unity, probably you have missed some setting or something. from your post unfortunately I have no idea what can be the issue except suggesting that is a problem with the materials which you already know about
edit. i love this forum feature that shows who thumbed down the comment. good to know who doesn’t bother to write a comment to help OP but is triggered by me trying to help people
It was a local issue so i dont need to fix it but changing the texture to lightmapped solves this issue to anyone experiencing similar.
