Missing menu option: Assets->Create->Textmesh Pro->Create Font Asset

Hi community!

I was using Unity 2018.1 and wanted to add dynamic SDF font asset introduced here:

The process is pretty straightforward, but I couldn’t find the option to create such assets after updating Unity to 2018.4 and Textmesh Pro to 1.4.1 (see screeshot)

I’d appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on this issue. Thank you!

The option is not available in the Assets menu.

The option is available when you select a font file and use the Context menu create in the Project inspector as seen below.

Thanks Stephan! But I don’t see the option there either.

In Unity 2018.4 with package version 1.4.1, the option should be there.

Do you have any errors in the console or something?

Quite a lot actually…

Looks like you still have the older version of TextMesh Pro in your project.

You will need to remove the older version and migrate the project to using the new package manager version. Their is a top sticky post about the procedure for this process.

Problem solved. Love you man!

Hi i got this problem, i dont even see this Assets->Create->Textmesh Pro
I use 2021.3.12f1.

I tried:

  1. remove & reimport package
  2. reimport essential package
  3. remap tool as above solution
