Mixamo Unlimited with Mechanim

Does anyone know how this compares to the old $375 Unlimited Mixamo deal? Does this only include +Mechanim or a lot more?

I have the same question, will there be a Mixamo Unlimited deal with mecanim for the buyers from the Unlimited Mixamo deal ?

FYI here is the link, which does not include any further contact info or mention of the other Mixamo Unlimited deal: Unlimited+ for Mecanim by Mixamo | Animation Tools | Unity Asset Store

A Comparison Features/Matrix would be very helpful

Dear Ina,

Here the Comparison Feature/Matrix ready for you: http://www.mixamo.com/plugins

The main difference between the old Unlimited and the Unlimited+ for Mecanim is that the latter provides you .anim files that can be retargeted to ANY character using Mecanim. Thus any motion you download is yours forever and royalty free, and you can apply it to any character you may want to animate in the future. Please let us know if you have any other question.

Thanks!!

Stefano

Any upgrade pricing? I only just bought the previous version before the price drop and new product ;(

Dan

Hello Stefano, wil there be a special deal for us who bought the Unlimited version to upgrade to Unlimited + Mecanim ?

At the moment the easiest way to upgrade to Unlimited+ is to buy the Unlimited+ and have a refund for the Unlimited you already purchased, so you will only have to pay the difference. Please send an email to pluginsupport at mixamo and we will help through the process.

Thanks!

Stefano

Hi Stefano,

Any chance you can coerce UT into putting Curves editing into purchased .anim files?

http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/155110-How-do-I-add-curves-to-mecanim-compatible-animations

Yes, we advocated for it and Unity developers are working on it.
Of course I can’t speak for them nor give timelines but it looks like it will happen
Stay tuned!

Thanks!

Stefano

Awesome! Thanks for the heads-up!

Good news folks now that 4.3 is out:

.anim body masks and additional curves are still not supported (for those you would require the FBX file), but with Unity 4.3 you can add curves for Mecanim parameters directly in animation window which does the same at the end.
Animation events on .anim files are also supported in Unity 4.3.

Thanks.

Ah, but this is only for Unity Pro. Unity free users still cannot use animation events.

Word of caution - they now charge $79 per rig download. This was a great value when you could rig for free and then buy the animations through this Unlimited+ package.

The Mixamo team, however, is open to communication. They worked with us on our issue and we appreciate that they listen to feedback.

still no fbx files lol just .anim

You can find better quality animations on the asset store with fbx files

Check this out intead

I agree with Tethys , i bought Unlimited+ when autorigger was free , but now i need to pay only for rig more than price of animated character in asset store (model, rig, animation, textures ). I hope that mixamo will add free autorigger to Unlimited+ .

@Andrydeen,
You may want to consider All Access, which includes FBX of all our animations, unlimited auto-rigger, www.mixamo.com/faceplus and www.mixamo.com/fuse.

We had to end the “free under 10k polys” policy as we need to make some money but we have release Maya/Max free scripts for the creation of the rig:
http://www.mixamo.com/auto-rigger

Also if you use Fuse wwww.mixamo.com/fuse you can rig and download a character every week for free.
Hope this helps!

Hi there

I’m currently thinking of purchasing the Unlimited+ and therefore have a couple of questions. I’d much appreciate any help (-:

1) 10’000+ human animations?
On the Mixamo website for the plugins it says that Unlimited+ grants access to 10’000 humanoid animations. But when I look at the animation list on the Mixamo website it lists only 1’888 human animations. Filter set to “human”. Even when I remove the filter and select “All”, the list contains only 1900-something animations. Where’s the difference between the mentioned 10000 and the 1800/1900 coming from?

2) Animation bound to a specific character?
I have two different characters that are rigged the same way. Using the Mixamo Animation Store plugin I have selected and successfully downloaded/applied a motion for the first character. Then I tried to attach this already downloaded animation to my second char as well. However, this animation won’t work when I attach it to the second character. Only if I re-download the animation through the Mixamo Animation Store for the second character as well, this animation will work on the second character.
Is an animation that I have bought/downloaded through the Mixamo Animation Store bound to the specific character that it has been downloaded for? Isn’t it possible to attach a downloaded animation to another character that is rigged in the same way?

By the way: The support e-mail that is listed in the asset store for the plugin (uas_support@mixamo.com) didn’t work for me. I got an error message back from the mail server /-:

My previous sub to Mixamo Unlimited+ has expired. But assuming it hasn’t changed, the animation it downloads the animation appropriate for the character you had selected. So if for example if it was a Mecanim character it produces a retargetable .anim file - but if it was a normal/legacy skeleton then it’s not retargetable. So make sure the initial character is setup correctly. The non + version doesn’t allow retargetting (assuming that is even still offered?)

I assume the very large number of animations are the number of actual animations * the speed / other minor mods the add-on allows. Usual marketing tactics.

Overall I found the Mixamo animations were of excellent quality, somewhat oddly named (which makes searching a pain) but the add-on really makes you fight hard to actually download them (thankfully now there’s a filter in the asset store it doesn’t swamp that too much anymore). It regularly took hours to get enough animations to build a move tree that would have taken <5 mins if it let you just multi-select. The skeptic in me makes me think it’s intentional too.

Hi Manaburn

Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences, that helped a lot!

My chars were indeed legacy rigs, hence I understand that every char/rig has to have its own animation.
