MMO - Hacking?

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum (as in excuse me), I just signed up for the forums…

I just started using Unity in late December. I gottened pretty familiar to it, and gottened pretty the hang of Unity’s Javascript, which isn’t a big difference from Lua. But, I’m planning to make a online multiplayer game, and as I played other multiplayer online game, I gurenteed there is at least more than 3 hackers in it sometimes every once in a while, and heres some questions:

Will smart masterminds try to develop a program that can hack the game? If they can, is it possible to hack browser-based games like the Unity’s Web Player?

These might be ridiculous questions, but before I could start my massive project, I need to know these, and “even” if my game did got hacked, nobody’s gonna play it anymore as those people will ruin the gameplay.

Sorry if my attitude got a little off with this thread. And yea, I’ve got some experience for 3d modelling softwares.

Yes, it is absolutely possible for players to hack your clients and you should expect that it will happen, especially if your game becomes popular.

Never trust the client.

Yes, players will almost always try to hack your game but you can limit this by having the server do more. The client should never tell the server its position, health or any other bit of sensative information, instead the server should be keeping track of that and sending that information to the client.
