Hello,
I would like to share a game I am working on to get some feedback and ask some questions. To my knowledge there are no survival games similar to DayZ or Rust for mobiles devices, so I started to make one. Do you think that Android users who would like a survival game?
To get the maximum performance, the game will be player on a small map and the graphics quality won’t be as good as a PC game. So far the game runs smoothly on my Galaxy 3, but I’m sure that will start to change as I add more features and enemies. What are major contributors to lag that I need to consider?
Currently players I have added a drag and drop inventory system. Players are able to stand near and face trees and tap the “Action” buttons. The health of the tree is decreased and a piece of wood is dropped near the tree which players are able to pick up. The same thing can be done to a rock to obtain stone. I am adding tools which will be needed to get certain materials.
I was thinking of having multiple maps. A difference scene would be chosen depending on what map the player selected from the menu. Would have many scenes decrease the games performance?
I would eventually like to make the game multiplayer. Most likely just through a local connection. Does anyone know of any information or guides I can read about make multiplayer games, specifically in with Unity?
I am creating the game for my enjoyment, but when it is ready I would like to release the game for free on the Android Play Store, but I would also like a way to earn some money for the time I spend creating the game. How could I sell more maps or sell materials as an add-on? What advertising service is the best to use? Google AdSense? Will including in-game cause people to not play the game?
I want to include some sort of enemy, but not zombies. Anyone have ideas on what type of enemies I could add?
Thanks for reading all of this. I wonder how many spelling and gramar mistakes I made…
