Modular asset ideas?

I wanted to jump into making stuff for the asset store but when I think on what to make nothing comes to mind. I was wondering what are people looking for in modular sets and whats popular?

I think a good asset would be an ability system where you can specify various abilities with damage, cast times, animations, effects and icons etc and assign them to your characters.

I’m not sure if something like that already exists, just been working on my own one for my game and there are a lot of possibilities. Especially if it was done really well and easily implementable/integratable.

There’s a lot of categories of assets, it depends on what you do.

A good one I am looking for at the moment is an in-game snap-to-grid function for placing building pieces. Sort of like minecraft where everything snaps to grid when you place it.

Some of the items I’m working with will not be blocks, but will be flat floor pieces, others will be 2-wide doors.

If you’re an artist, modular environment packs are popular.

If you’re a programmer, you just have to find a need and fill it.

Hey guys! Thanks for the replys I am a 3d artist. I have been looking through the asset store I thought maybe a trench system would be a nice one to start with? I started on it the other day heres a picture.
Basically I started with a square trench wall that you can tile

what i think would be good is modular houseing i tried it before bu the the shear amount of parts i created made so many drawcalls

lol yea it modular housing would be a ridiculous amount of draw calls @PvTGreg
