3D Dynamic Text - They’re real, and they’re spectacular! (to quote Seinfeld)
There are many times in both game and non-game situations where you just want to have nice, 3D type created from an arbitrary text string. So I came up with this.
I want to make it easy for anyone to simply say with a few lines of code, “put this text here”.
Perhaps also there could be a placeholder where you enter your text in the editor, and then on runtime it will be converted to 3D text.
Bevels and proper UV Maps means you get some really sexy-looking typography.
Hmm, FlyingText3D and TTF Text already exist. (Although in my case, TTF Text didn’t exist when I started FlyingText3D, otherwise I doubt I would have done it.) Not that there shouldn’t be any competition, of course (how many GUI and tile systems are there…), but it does seem a bit niche in this case.
