MonoDevelop Can not debug?

Some time ago, I can use monodevelop debug with unity4.2.

However, a few days ago, it suddenly out of control.

when I use “Run->Attach to Process”, it fail and show the message something like that

“Could not connect to the debugger.”

I have close other running program.

I delete the unity4.2 and monodevelop.

I install unity4.3 and monodevelop.

But it still fail.

Is anyone can help me?

Thank you

Hello.

[Preference / External Tools / Editor Attaching] must be enabled.

Please check.

I find the answer here!

that doesnt fix it. this is an incorrect fix for this issue. see this thread and please unity FIX THIS ISSUE RIGHT NOW:

Try removing all breakpoints before performing “Attach to process…”.

Worked for me.

I had the same problem and it drove me nuts.

Mavina, I could kiss you! This totally sorted it for me, and it’s been bothering me for months! Thanks!

I started having the problem again. This time deleting all breakpoints did not fix it. After several days of trying everything (including complete reinstall of Unity - twice), I looked at my antivirus program (I am using ZoneAlarm Extreme).

I then removed both Unity and MonoDevelop completely from the Application Control Setting of ZoneAlarm and that did the trick.

Worked for me: in Unity: Edit → Preferences… → External Tools → (set) Editor Attatching → restarting the computer

I have problem: Could not connect to the degugger. ← get this message and I can’t set break points.
I turned off firewall and unistalled antivir. I have now 5.6 version and before 5.5 with the same problem.
How to debug?
Thank you!

Have a look here, might lead to somewhere near the solution:

This worked for me as wellr

Why the hell is there no correct message in mono develop referring to this simple solution? I wasted two hours of my life because of “Could not connect to the debugger.” this is an impertinence. The developers who did this are incompetent.
