MonoDevelop is not opening on my laptop

I was working through the “Nightmares” project on my MacBook Pro that runs OS X 10.9.4. MonoDevelop downloaded onto my computer, and when I try to open it, it bounces up and down on my dock, but it never opens? Im working with Unity 4.6
