Monodevelop not starting

Hi guys

So I recently downloaded and installed the latest version of Unity and am pretty much let down afterwards by the fact that Monodevelop doesn’t start.

I started a new project just to test it out, and then needed to edit a script for said project. I right clicked on the script within the Unity editor and then clicked open script. This was followed by the Monodevelop load symbol, but then no monodevelop. It doesn’t show in TaskManager at all, and gives no error dialog.

I went to look in the Monodevelop install archive within C:/Program Files (x89)/Unity/Monodevelop and couldn’t find the .exe file for it. The closest I get is a file named Monodevelop.exe.addins but no .exe extension file.

I reinstalled Unity but once again, sit with the same problem.

I’m running a windows 8 machine.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks guys

Try to install monodevelop with the official site : Download | MonoDevelop

and go to Edit>Preferences>External Tools and assign the .exe file.
