MonoDevelopo crashes!

Hello all,
I am just getting into Unity3D and have been trying to get the script editor to work. Unfortunately it just crashes every time I try to run it. It don’t matter if you double click a .js file in the project window, use the open button in the inspector or just running it from launchpad. (I’m on a MAC) I can see the icon pop up on my applications bar and bounce around, but then it just goes away.
One interesting thing was that once when initially opened a empty javascript file Dashcode came up when mono develop crashed. Don’t know if this means anything.

Does anyone have any ideas? I’ve tried re-installing Unity 3.4.2 but nothing changed.

It appears that if I give my account admin rights that MonoDevelop launches. So is this typical? I was under the impression that you didn’t want to have you working account to have Admin rights when running programs?
