“One desolate landscape… one solitary fisherman… and an island hiding memories around every turn”
From Polypusher Studios comes Montague’s Mount, a first person psychological rollercoaster ride through isolation, desolation and one man’s tortured mind all set against the bleakness of an isolated Irish island.
“It felt like this was never going to end. The world wasn’t going to stop crashing down until there was nothing left of me but dust.” - Keary Taylor
The mixture of cold Atlantic water and course sand in your mouth brings you back from unconsciousness. The wreckage of a boat’s hull that surrounds you, leads you to a solitary assumption; your vessel has been torn apart by the submerged rocks. The secrets of the island must be uncovered if you are ever going to find a way off. Where is everyone; is the island really uninhabited; what is lurking within the isolated caves; and what is that building on top of Montague’s Mount?
Coming soon for PC, Mac and Linux.
“For too long we have swept the problems of mental illness under the carpet… and hoped that they would go away” - Richard J. Codey
Well that would be telling, wouldn’t it… Montague’s Mount is a thriller like not before seen in gaming - so we don’t want to give the story away and ruin it for you. All we will say is that it is a disturbing psychological thriller, combining exploration and puzzle solving, all told against a ‘lump-in-the-throat’ story and environment. Ultimately you have to find out the story of what happen on the island, which in turn uncovers some shocking truths. You have been warned.
“This is all so familiar; I have been this way before. It was Peter and Aine who brought me this way. If only this unrelenting rain would give in, I could say for sure. Day after day, this perpetual dampness, crawling all over me, saturating everything on this island” - Montague’s Mount
Montague’s Mount’s story is set against the desolate and rugged scenery of Ireland. With this we are embracing ‘all things’ Irish. The Irish language (Gaeilge) is used extensively throughout Montague’s Mount and we believe it is the first mainstream game to promote the irish language.
