i’m making an isometric game, searching on google i found monument valley
i falled in love with its graphics, i saw their videos on youtube where they ‘explain’ what they did to get that quality but i can’t still understand what i should do to achieve a similar effect… all i tried is terrible -_-
watch mine and the original :0 (i used the same color for the cube…)
i hope you can give me some graphic hint
no one?
No-one is replying because the effect here is one of art direction. It’s technically achievable using the most basic possible hardware that can still do 3D.
You wouldn’t need anything other than vertex colours to approximate this look. You’re either good with colour and modelling, or you’re not.
So, kudos to their artists and art direction.
To start if I were you, I’d get good in a modelling package and attempt to replicate it. There’s no magic here and you do not need to know any specific rendering or engine tricks. Just try to copy one of their scenes identically, in a 3D package first. If you can’t do that with say, blender, then the problem is you’re not able to.
i’m basically a programmer and I never worked on making models,so I thought there was something more, as particular shaders or effects…
it means it’s time for me to work on models and blender
thanks for the reply
