Morphs and procedural animation from Lightwave to Unity

Hello!
I am fairly new to Unity, but have been animating in Lightwave for years.

I have successfully imported animated characters from Lightwave to Unity (via FBX) using bone deformations. But I have no luck with morphs and procedural animations. Only the bone deformations are happening in Unity.
Does anyone have a working method for this?

Cheers,
Mats

As far as I know, only bone deformations and basic hierarchical animation types are supported.

Maybe you can bake the animation? You may need a plugin rather than relying on LW. You can find some free baking plugs on the flay site.

Thanks for your replies.
Only bones and basic hierarchical animation: is that a general limitation of the Unity game engine, or is it specific for Lightwave output? In other words, would Unity allow morphs etc. if you create them in another animation app?

Regarding the baking plugin: does anyone have experience with a plugin for Lightwave that could handle this?

Cheers,
Mats

Mats it’s been a while since your last post but I’ve been doing a little research into Unity and found a tutorial that shows how to scan the animation and output into Blender. Haven’t tried this yet but would be interested in knowing the requrements for the animation to be read from Lightwave FBX into the Unity prefab.
