Most effective way to make a fire hose with water

Hi folks !
I’m a beginner in Unity. I would like to make a fire hose with water going out with a dynamic range.
What’s the best way to do it in a 2D game ?
With particles effects or with sprite ?
How can I generate this ? And how to control the range and the direction of the water going out ?
Thanks for your advices !

A Particle System would be the way to go. Dynamic range could be tricky and will depend on exactly what you are trying to accomplish. A “brute force” way is to have preset range values and have a different particle effect for each one. Do you want the hose to rotate towards the mouse pointer? I think adding some more info about exactly what you are trying to do would help a lot

Thanks for the answer !
Here is a drawing explaining what I want to do…

I think there is raycast in the story but I wouldn’t bet it… lol
