Most interesting aspect of game development?

Hey guys, I was just wondering what the most neat or interesting aspect of game development is to you. Mine is programming, it’s just cool seeing how you can give the computer something and it takes it and makes it where it can understand, turning it into a program. I just think that’s really cool. What’s the most interesting part for you?

For me it is the art, when your game has a very cool art, plus a unified art direction. It’ll make your audience’s jaw dropped man.

p/s:I’m not an artist.

I also agree, I think the art is cool because you can create something with software and make it like it’s a living thing, pretty cool

The money.

The most interesting aspect is programming for me. But the best part is when you are done, and people are using your software. Nothing else like it.

I like it when something I just implemented or spent a while on suddenly works for the first time.

When something works realy well the first time, like just make something and it works flawlessly that is amazing!

@marigold: lol.
Jaimi: I agree, seeing people playing/using what you did is pretty cool, giving feedback as well. I love it.

TylerPerry imaginaryhuman: Yea, seeing your software/game working is a huge relief. I think it’s cool seeing it all work together.

The other part I like is you have a wide open canvas and can do just about anything you can imagine.

The concept stage where you just let your imagination run free. I hate feature cuts the most :frowning:

All of it mainly 3D modeling, programming, scripting and drawing up the levels. Why because i have so much fun talking to my friends about like for example how big should the mountains be or making the forests full of nature but in the end the people you work with is the best having a laugh striking up a conversation and development!

I am a programmer and I can honestly say that coding is probably the least interesting part for me.

Modelling is the most interesting because without them all you are using is placeholders.

No models seems to be the motivation killer

I love all aspects as an independent developer. My most favourite would have to be programming though, bringing something to life! Its absolutely brilliant, you essentially play god. Whats even better is when something happens that was never intended then leads to more ideas! Its amazing what one line of code can do…

And il throw in my least favourite… animation. Mainly because im horrible at it.

Playing.
