Hi,
I know this question comes up a lot but I think it is appropriate to ask again and again in the fast changing game world.
What blogs and magazines do you find most useful, and (just to make this a bit more than an unordered list of links) why do you like them?
Let me start off: I like Edge Magazine (UK, print) because it has many essay-like articles which seem a bit more adult and reflected than most other press. Also, when testing games, Edge is only impressed by innovation and not ashamed to rate big names down.
this is a link to the best resource
not a blog though.
I really enjoy http://www.altdevblogaday.com/
It’s got a huge mix of topics spanning all areas of development from game design fundamentals to programming theory to actual implementation guides, with topics covering graphics, gameplay, audio, community relations, publishing, business management and all sorts of other interesting topics. Posts are made by people at all levels in the industry from indie developers all the way up to legends like John Carmack. It’s a wealth of knowledge all pooled together in a melting pot and I’d recommend everyone read it at least semi-regularly.
I enjoy Gamasutra Blogs a lot. Occasionally someone will make a great blog, it will get featured and then I will consume everything they’ve written. No matter the quality it offers lots of varied opinions from people with more experience than me, and that’s always good.
