Mounting shapes?

How can I mount a shape in a bone af a skined character? I want my characters to be able to use diferent tools and other accesories, and each one need to be placed and oriented as certain bone in the character skeleton.

Either just attach it via drag and drop in the hierarch view.
or at runtime use:
transform.parent = theBone;
