When using InputSystem and enabling “Run in Background” in player settings I can see the buttons responding to the hover trigger, even when the application is running in background (even selecting Reset and Disable All Devices) in the Background behavior property of the Input Manager.
Is this an internal bug of the Input system or, if not, how can it be fixed?
Except if I missed something I was not able to reproduce the issue.
With “Reset And Disable All Devices” I don’t have any hover when the player is not focused.
With “Reset And Disable Non Background Devices” I get the hover state which is expected since the mouse is a background capable device.
We will add in the next release a way to view the canRunInBackground flag in the device debug view to help.
