Koko Tap is back with our eight iOS game, this time an iPad-only WW2 title called Move It, Soldier!.
Move It, Soldier! is fundamentally a game of balancing risks with underlying card and dice mechanics driving the whole thing. In the first version, set in Normandy 1944, 2-4 players assume the role of a Yank or British soldier moving across randomly generated battlefields of various terrain types to reach an objective. Random events, four levels of difficulty, and a 10 minute play time make this one fun, eventful, and replayable.
Do you risk requesting more order cards from HQ to make a dangerous, fast dash across the battlefields to gain the objective? Or do you move slowly and carefully, hoping enemy fire pins and pushes back your more foolish opponents? That’s the choice you have to make in Move It, Soldier!
Move It, Soldier! should be released in late August and free updates will add even more gaming fun in the future. How will players handle minefields, barbed wire, pillboxes, dug in enemies, and the distraction of smoke and fire in v1.1? And v1.2 will introduce players to the horrors of Pacific theatre combat with US Marines. Future plans includes more terrain features, special terrain obstacles, as well as East Front and Mediterranean battle packs.
1: The post is supposed to be Move It Soldier correct, look at your title
2: It looks good, i want to see a demo
Ha, ha, title fixed.
P.S. Love your RTS project, gamenut. How easy would that be to use it to have a WW2 theme, units etc, I wonder? Are you going to Unite10?
Well, it probably wouldnt be hard, there are archer units in my game, so i suppose just make their rate of fire and ammo count much higher and change the model (of course) and you have a ww2 style game. Thanks for the interest
Thanks to some incredible bits of code from Jedd and Rob, I’ve managed to get Move It, Soldier! to the final testing stage. I was hoping for a late August release but with my son’s birthday and a new job, it got put on the back burner.
All that’s left to check is to make sure that all of the necessary functions work in all possible cases (not as big a task as it sounds as I’ve been checking along the way), tweak the gameplay balance, and purchase the hi-res versions of the two pieces of theme music.
I’ve got some newer screen shot on the website now too.
This close, woo-hoo!
hope you enjoy our flag hhhahhh… nice project…
Pics rotate on the main site. Will post updated versions in the coming days … some of those show outdated or FPO artwork.
