Movie Texture Buffering Problem

At least, I think it’s a buffering problem. I’ve got a movie texture used as a cutscene. The movie is 1 MB (10 MB’s in the importer for some reason :? ) in size, and when I go to the preview in the inspector and play the preview, it seems like the movie is buffering before it plays it (and it gives me the spinning ball).

Except that it takes a minute or more (the actual movie isn’t even that long), and after the beach ball it doesn’t even play the movie. What’s going on?

My movie is a Quicktime movie and imported just fine (even though it took way longer that it should have), and I’m using Unity 2.5 Pro. Also, my movie texture is 2560x1600 if that helps to know. The reason it’s that big is so I can have this movie go full screen on the highest res monitors and have the movie not be a pixelated mess. :stuck_out_tongue: Unless of course there’s a better way of doing it?

Hope someone can help!

That’s way too big. A lot of graphics cards won’t go over 2048x2048, and even the highest HD video is 1920x1080, which isn’t exactly a “pixelated mess”.

Well…Eric is right once again.

I used a 720x480 version and it worked just fine. I thought it would look bad but it didn’t. Not even when the game was running at 2560x1600.

Thanks again for your typing fingers Eric!
