Much "weaker" CPU performs much better with ECS

Hello,

I have a laptop with a N5000 cpu, and a desktop with a 4790K (https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Pentium-Silver-N5000-vs-Intel-Core-i7-4790K/m499477vs2384).

I totally begin with ECS, with a demo found on the web: basic 1000 GOs just moving. It is possible to enable/disable jobs. Here are the results (without/with Jobs):

  • desktop: 8 FPS/ 40 FPS
  • laptop: 5 FPS/ 100 FPS

I’m extremely surprised, what’s going on?

What’s going on is you’ve basically asked the forum ‘Why are my feet are wet sometimes?’ and that’s all. Nobody knows without details.

Given that the only thing that’s different is the computer on which the project runs i thought that would be sufficient…
What info would be required then?

What’s your test case?

Check your SSE, AVX sets.
