I wish there was a marketplace forum where people could post stuff they want to see on the asset store, but I guess this is the next best place.
So I’m putting together a tech demo for an open source server framework. It’s a massive pvp mmo that highlights what the engine is good at. Problem is I cannot find what I’m looking for on the asset store and I’m not sure what my best options are. I’m on a limited budget here. I’d be happy to pay around $200 or so for what I need, but having them custom made is more then likely out of the question.
In a nutshell, I need a single character, with the ability to equip 2-3 weapons (staff/2H sword/sword & shield) and basic weapon animations. I also need animations for blocking and dodge rolling. The character can be naked for all I care. I’m really looking for the things I need to showcase functionality.
Would something like Mixamo be a good option here? I’ve never worked with Mixamo or mechanim. The problem I see there is adding weapon props. I have no experience with 3d modeling tools or access to any commercial tools. I’m an experienced dev but always had artists to handle this kind of thing.
Any suggestions? Like I said I’m fine with existing assets in the asset store, I just couldn’t find any that matched what I needed. It’s a limited set of requirements but I really need all of them, aside from I’d probably be ok with just 2 weapons instead of 3.
