Multi-Touch Support for Windows 7

Hello,

The Multi-touch support for windows 7/touch monitor can be a best update and unity a best choose for client and future…

Just an idea

I remember. You wanted Unity Technologies to throw this in for free.

If you want to log a feature request, or vote on one that’s already been submitted then go here:

If you want to throw out ideas that will simply fall off the front page eventually and not get tallied in any coordinated way, by all means keep posting here!

And yes, multi-touch would be cool but we have to focus on features for the masses and given it’s just been released Win7 multi-touch hasn’t rated very high. We’ll see where that goes as touch interfaces on a significant number of desktops seem to be all but certain in the near future.

Unity can do MT - it is just a matter of hard work  Seriously: we are going the MT-route with Unity since a few months and i think that UT will become his place also in that area…

Regarding Windows7: TUIO (the OSC protocoll we are using) can be easily used with Windows 7 and with MS-Surface and also with OSX and Linux etc. …

Cheers,

Hi there,

who knows if there will have a (native) compatibility between Windows 7 (WM_TOUCH / WM_GESTURE) and Unity 3 ?

Actually, I’ve made some tests with CCV1.3 (video test) and uniTUIO (touchTestScene.unity), and I’ve got some good results.
But when I try to do the same with my table (not a Surface, but with IR ribbon) and uniTUIO + W2TUIO, I can’t use the W2TUIO in a background task else nothing appends with the app. In the other case, if I touch the W2TUIO window and come back to the app, I can see that some packets hhave been transfered…

Can you help me?
Regs, Gilles.
