Multichannel Audio Issue

Regardless of how I configure the speaker mode in project settings, sound only seems to register on the first two audio channels. I assume this is somehow related to AudioSettings.driverCapabilities consistently returning Stereo despite using systems that are capable of far more than that.

Has anyone figured out how to use the other channels in Unity 5? Can it be done without middleware?

Anyone?

I am having the same issue.
I am on 5.1 on Windows publishing to standalone. What was your development evironment? Perhaps its a bug with certain systems.
