When using multiplayer play mode in a fresh unity project (2023.1.0b20) on a linux system (Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon), virtual players do not activate properly. When activate is clicked, there is no loading wheel, and the word “Activating” appears, but nothing happens.
I’ve left it for 15 minutes and still nothing. No errors appear in the console. If I close the multiplayer play mode window and re-open it, it says the player is active, but clicking play does not launch the virtual player and the mpm window goes back to saying it’s inactive.
Bumping this, as Im having the same issue on Unity 2023.2.0a22 w/ linux 6.4.12
Same here, when clearing the Library/VP folder, it stays spinning on ‘Activating’ for a while, and then reverts back to ‘Inactive’, with no error logs in the Editor.log or console anywhere.
If I then try to activate it again, it then gets stuck as in the OP for me.
I think this may be this issue on the issue tracker - I think it’s best to vote for it there to increase awareness of the Unity team, not sure if they look at the forums often.
Hi There! Unfortunately currently MPPM does not officially support Linux, we hope this might change in the future! Sorry about that
