Hi i want people to chime in and help me i want to make a unity multiplayer game using all options unity offers. If i ask a fixed price per player and dont ask more money later to make the game run 4 years or 48 months how do i best calculate price for my game also noting that steam takes 30% and in my country i have to pay 50% tax. I understand best is to calculate it in a certain amount of dollars per player and assuming the average player will play the game for say 100 or 200 hours if we are being harsh (i played some games over 600 hours over years) how would i best go around calculating a price. if they tax me i will lose about 70% of my original amount i will be asking how do i go about this ? Any developpers who have games with all services enabled.
You can use my free Unity Gaming Services Cost Calculator (Google Sheets).
You have to calculate this month over month because that‘s how you get charged and reimbursed. But not necessarily at the same time, eg payments may be a month later but service costs need to be paid now - then what? You need to know that you remain liquidity in such a situation.
For instance, a single week with significant use by gamers could easily require you to pay high service costs depending on the game‘s mechanics, the service usage patterns, and player behaviour. You definitely need to track the game‘s metrics on a daily basis to avoid any sudden surprises, respectively to benefit from opportunities.
Thanks this is very useful
