I recently realized that you can have more than one editor open at a time. That’s great, I’m assuming it’s an 4.3 feature (it’s possible I changed a setting or something).
But I’ve also noticed that the editor is freezing up pretty frequently. It happens when I save a scene and immediately open a new project, even with just one editor open. Now that I think about it, there is a long pause when opening files sometimes now too. Maybe I just need to wait it out. Is anyone else experiencing this? Thanks.
Nope. It’s not a new feature. If it works, then that is pure luck. I’d not recommend that you work this way.
It works on both of my machines, every time? What about the freezing? It doesn’t actually crash and generate a report. I have to [ctrl alt del] out of it. Thanks.
I cant be the only one who’s editor is freezing up on them when saving and opening a new file, am I?
Nope. But you might be the only one trying to use two copies of Unity at the same time, when it’s something that’s not supported.
I’m not using two editors. At one point I noticed I accidentally had two open, hadn’t received the usual warning message. It was around the time I upgraded to 4.3, I didn’t see it in the release notes. I tested it at work and at home and posted a screenshot because you said it was ‘pure luck’.
Regarding the freezing. What would be causing it and how can I fix it. I would say at least 50% of the time, when I try to switch projects, it freezes up. If it generated an error report, I would report a bug. I get nothing, it just hangs. Thank you for your time.
