Muse Sprite greyed out (cannot use anymore)

I have installed Muse Texture and Muse Sprite. Both of these are now greyed out in my project and I cannot open them. The assets created by Muse Sprite when generating sprites that I have created in this project earlier is therefore also not opening.

Providing screen capture:

Unity Editor 2022.3.7f1
Muse Sprite Tool 0.4.1

hmm do you have any errors? @genevieve_dufour did we encounter that before?

Try deleting your package cache in the Library Folder (one above your assets folder).
Or you can delete the whole Library Folder if you’re willing to wait for it to regenerate!

I’ve had the problem for a couple weeks. I didn’t want to try anything before I had posted about it. There was no error message on starting the project.

I tried now to remove it from package manager and re-install com.unity.muse.sprite. I got an error message:

Asset import failed, “Packages/com.unity.muse.sprite/Runtime/Resources/modes.json” > InvalidOperationException: Failed to add object of type MuseModeAsset. Check that the definition is in a file of the same name and that it compiles properly.
UnityEditor.AssetImporters.AssetImportContext.AddObjectToAsset (System.String identifier, UnityEngine.Object obj) (at <97436df440ca462884c5332c1d8ebbe7>:0)
Unity.Muse.Common.Editor.MuseModeImporter.OnImportAsset (UnityEditor.AssetImporters.AssetImportContext ctx) (at ./Library/PackageCache/com.unity.muse.common@0.4.1/Editor/MuseModeImporter.cs:17)
UnityEditor.AssetImporters.ScriptedImporter.GenerateAssetData (UnityEditor.AssetImporters.AssetImportContext ctx) (at <97436df440ca462884c5332c1d8ebbe7>:0)

But it still appeared as installed in Package Manager and greyed out in the Muse label.

I deleted the com.unity.muse.sprite folder in Library → LibraryCache. Restarted the editor → It still appears as installed in the Package Manager after reload but now no muse tools appear in the Muse label. Even texture that I did not touch. No error messages.

Restarted the project again (now appears in Muse label). Error message:

InvalidOperationException: Failed to add object of type MuseModeAsset. Check that the definition is in a file of the same name and that it compiles properly.

Hi @Rickard87,
Can you try to close your project, delete those 3 folders from the Package cache Library
com.unity.muse.common@0.4.1
com.unity.muse.sprite@0.4.1
com.unity.muse.texture@0.4.1
And open your project again.

No errors. All 3 shows as installed in package manager. Then I had no ‘Muse’ ribbon.
But I restarted the project again and it appeared.
Thank you! This is solved now.

@lucvovan You gave me the same solution as @genevieve_dufour I guess but I didn’t understand it at first, thank you both!
