Mute

Hello everyone,

We have just reached that spot on our game development where it feels right to make our game public therefore I am here sharing with you our WIP on Mute. Below you can find the first of three trailers:

I hope you guys like it or at least get intrigued by this first trailer and, even though Mute is being flagged as horror the game is mostly about mystery, story driven rather than jump scares. We have created a vast open world with a little over 6sq miles (16 sq Km) and we want it to feel very much as an open wilderness seeing in National Geographic documentaries. The story starts with Steve vanishing in a canyon and his brother Jeff embarking on a journey to find his missing brother. The plot is set on the 1970’s but the non-linear story drives you back to the 1880s and happenings from that era are affecting the current and present events in the game, it is up to you to put them pieces together.

Comments and criticism are always welcome and if you fancy knowing more details about Mute you can always visit our website:

This definitely looks interesting.
Only thing that stands out to me is at 0:44 in the video the colour of the mountain in the middle is very different from all the other mountains, it doesn’t feel right to me.
But other than that it looks really good.

Looks good! Interesting and original.

Yeah I agree with GarBenjamin. Please keep updating here.
Cirtique - the buffalo could use some good animations, I know it’s pre-alpha.
One thing that often bothers me during a non-interactive scenes is plane clipping and geometry inter-penetration. Even on commercial AAA games.
I mention this because when the guy is being drug on the sled the grass is inter-penetrating into the sled and the character.
