I downloaded and installed Unity 3D so I could check my models in Unity. It took a few minutes to add the textures, but I am on the way.
This 3D model is my over/under shotgun model (available at http://3dmodelworld.com).

Well, that’s sort of the goal, so… Yeah.
??? Not quite sure what you mean.

What he means is that all fbx models should import into unity perfectly, unity isn’t quite buggy there so we’re not too sure what this thread is about? Models importing correctly isn’t a feature, it’s something that is simply expected.
Beautiful gun!
I’m guessing the other guys are confused about the thread title. But I like the gun, excellent job!
Thanks Jaimi. I have made quite a few weapons from Sci-fi to historical and modern.
Well unity is is new to me and I was quite pleased with the import of the models and the ease of adding the textures to it. some software that I create 3D models / assets for (such as Poser 3D) can be quite a pain in the you know what. ![]()
I totally understand you, I was also surprised at first how flawlessly Unity worked when importing models, it can be quite a new experience after some other engines and their obscure model formats.
I agree, I was quite pleasantly surprised. Tells you a lot about how well the Unity software is put together!
