two weeks ago …
I have submitted a game environment building blocks with 2 demos day and night scenes !
to unity asset store and waiting it to be published
and got an E-mail today telling me : it’s been declined because it’s too simple !
I consider this a simple a project as I am still a beginner
but it’s not simple compared to a lot of assets on the store !
and on the website I read this strange reason “I think the word is indian” English is not my first language and can’t understand this reason ?!
and yes, this reason is very “informative” !
Note :
this is my course work for a linked in course
but used different programs
Maya instead of blender
Substance painter instead of photoshop textures
also made a unity demo scenes !
well organized project folder
[A lot of variations can be made with these buidling blocks I had made … I made only 50 building variations for my demo scenes ! ]
I got a comment from a friend >> “remove Aura plugin, remove unity terrain, and all duplicates, what are you left with?”
and to answer this question I have around 11 unique models >> total are 18 >> those are not really duplications, well they do have the same geometry but different shape … also to make some edits on pivot points to make it easier for users …
e.g. these two antennas have the same geometry and UV but different shape is this count as duplicate ?
Also I had made numerous of materials that for any model type
(i.e. I have 2 different antennas, you can use any of the 4 antenna materials on any of them)
Also I had made 50 buildings combinations
each one is unique … there are some similarities but still unique
and they have a ready to use particles and light sources with 4 different colors !
So you included other 3rd party assets in your own asset? Is very easy to fall into that route, if you beginner. Or these vids are just demos?
You should publish only models as asset, if that what you did. Make sure models are optimized, in terms of polygons etc.
On side note, It would be nice, if there would be an option to enter into these houses. More variations would be nice too, rather than just pure cylindrical pipes.
@MajorKalawy , You MUST remove everything what is not made by you.
If your asset’s idea is cooperating with another’s publisher asset make a video showing how easy that is (you may write some script which will make that even easier) but you cannot send both to asset store.
That’s no matter if demo scene id not importatn for you, someone may got not your asset for free which is illegal.
I have the same issue. My package has declined with reason: “decline reason in dhrama”. I don’t know what it mean? I try to improve something and summit again. I always receive that message in many times, and I don’t what exactly reason. Why is Unity’s supporter do not give an clearly reason or more detail?
