My experience with Unity iPhone -- Sweet!

I just bought Unity iPhone basic this morning and I thought I’d share my experience so far.

The installation was simple, though there was a strange warning saying that a newer version existed on my harddrive, even though this is the first time installing Unity iPhone. I’m guessing it saw my Unity Indie install and thought it was newer. A little annoying, but no biggie.

The demo app built and launched beautifully. It installed on my iphone, and works great.

I then installed the Unity Remote on my iPhone, which by the way is really fun to use. You launch the app on the iPhone, then connect over a wi-fi connection to your Unity dev machine and with Unity running, you press play, and now you’ve got a wicked iPhone joystick!

So far I haven’t found much in the documentation. When I open the Documentation folder in the new Unity iPhone install, it has one entry for “Getting Started with iPhone Development” which lists one page of info. No instructions otherwise, that I can see yet.

Anyway, I’m lovin’ this thing, and can’t wait to publish my first iPhone app!

I’m glad you’re having fun.

Oh, and welcome to the forums!

OK, that’s all I needed to hear!

If my car wasn’t in the shop, I’d leave work early to go home and play! Arrggghh… curse you, spring, struts, exhaust leak and radio…

I may drive junk but I have a new MacBook and a Unity license.

Sounds like your priorities are all correct though!
