My first 3d model- W.I.P.

Hey guys today im excited to show you my first 3d model. It is my version of the rake(seeker). It was 100% done by me and I feel proud to say that. please give feedback and what you would like to see improved.

It still looks quite polygonal. The texture needs a bit of work, also. It’s a good start, though. A better place to post this may be the WIP Art thread.

WARNING MUTE VIDEO, but for a first model it’s not bad at all, everyone has to start somewhere.

lol thanks, I did the pitch and noise effects on the first song(first time too)

I had my headphones on really loud and possibly lost hearing on that intro static haha, figured Id put a little warning.

Reference is your keyword here…References…Use them as much as possible. When creating a character it is most important you really know how it is going to look, what it’s role is and how it thinks, acts and behaves. This will greatly help you whilst modelling it. You could sketch your character on paper and scan it to use as a blueprint or digitally mock up photoshop files to create your character on your digital sketches. You’ll get great results and it will look exactly as you want it to look.

This also greatly helps if you are going to rig and animate your character, because you know what kind of movements you want to make and where to add more detail to the mesh for the rigging to look good…

But…for your first model, good job, and keep it up

Textures are just as important as your mesh…but it has no use if the mesh needs some more work…focus on your modelling and develop a way you like!

Best regards
