My first Asset

Hey guys,
I am very new to Unity. Only been playing with it for a few weeks. I thought I would look into creating assets for the Unity Store. Since I am so new to this, I thought I would get your opinions.

Is this something you would buy?
Is the quality up to par with what you would expect to get when purchasing an item?

Note: sorry about the site. I made it in just a couple hours so I would have a place to post work for my friends and family to see

I don’t mind it at all.
Internet Explorer loves it though. Whenever I tried to close the tab it would freeze. Then after about 10-30 seconds it would unfreeze but would not close the tab. In the end I had to use the task manager to close it down:)

I think the quality is pretty nice.

To improve on the product, I would include a small script to change the light, and possibly some LOD versions, depending on the current poly count.

It looks really nice, a script to change colors would be cool

It seems pretty high poly though,

It looks nice and like most have already said, a script to change the colours would be great. The one thing I would say is to include more info in your post about the asset itself like the poly count and texture sizes.

I agree with what ThinkSquirrel has said. Knowing the current poly count and texture size info would likely help someone in deciding whether or not they would like to purchase this asset… In my opinion.

Nice work and keep it up. =]

Thanks for all the input guys. The model could definitely use some optimization in the poly count. Particularly in the Lens aria. As it stands right now: Polys 9,558 Verts: 10,052. Each light has 2 layers. The “light” and the “lens”. I know I could considerably reduce the numbers without losing much detail.

I have one metal texture that is 1024x1024 with an alpha for the secular map. It has a normal map that is the same size. Then a 512x512 normal map for the lens. That’s about it.

I like the idea about the script but I’m not a programmer. I’m just a 3d guy :). I was thinking $5 would be a good price. Comparing it to other traffic lights that are out there. This would bring me in under those.
