Two month ago i have no idea of game programming, i am graphic designer so the only code that i have seen is html css an a little of jquery, but some day i decided that making videogame was something that i really wanted to learn.
So this is my first game so far, is a piece of shit, but is mine and i pride of it, because two month ago loops, collision, variables and particles was like jerogliphic for me, and now i finally can understand and see part of the matrix.
Thanks and hope google translate have done their job well in this post
“Arrow keys” for move and “x” for fire
Watch out those killer spheres and the cubes from hell
the game has no end, so at least you liked you could spend eternity destroying cubes unless their killed you first
Hey, it wasn’t that bad! The spaceship has HP, that is also presented nicely, background is OK, there are small effects for everything, etc. Obviously it is nothing sellable, but already better than 80% of the “first games”.
Other than a reset, this is like an graphically-upgraded version of some of the early games from decades ago. They were fun then and still are for those who still play them.
I teach Game-Dev (yes, as in my sig), and I must say this is a very good first effort!
Just a few notes:
No restart, just like everyone noticed
No feedback on collision. When your space-ship gets hit, there should be some flash, or it should blink red a few times.
There don’t seem to be any more enemies after the cube.
The enemies can be varied, i.e, same cubes, but different movements paths after a while.
Music is a little…annoying
power-ups?
As Softwizz suggested, post it on the Asset Store as a complete project, and make some money.
6) The bullet is too small compared to the enemies. It often misses. Need multiple weapons.
