Oh, and can anyone direct me to a guide or tell me how i export it so i can import it into Unity with the textures and everything? xD
Which modeling software do you use?
I am using Blender, why?
You asked how to get it into Unity, to go between two points requires an origin and a destination.
With Blender, you can just open Unity and drop the .blend file into the Project window.
Haha! I completely missed that part
Sweet, I’ll try. Thanks alot!
Hmm, it does not work. It lets me drag it into the project, but i cant make it appear inside the game view
After you drag it into the project, it should show up there just fine. Did you drag it from the Project window to the Hierarchy window?
No, I dragged it into the project window. I cant drag it into the Hierarchy, and I cant drag it into the scene neither.
made a really fast paint-over
When you drag it into the project window, it imports properly, right? I’m going to walk through this here, just in case. It’s a trivial matter, but we are probably caught on something minor.
I guess that it imports properly, I dont get any errors or anything, it just loads a bit, and then its in.
Hey thanks. I agree, the blade could look better, but I dont want to add much detail to the handle, because the character in the game is gonna hold it in its hands all the time, so you wont see it anyway.
Oh I now see an error in the bottom of the Unity Window, it says:
Blender could not convert the .blend file to FBX file.
You need to use Blender 2.45 or higher for direct Blender import to work.
FYI, I’m using Blender 2.5x
That one, I don’t know about. It could be that Unity doesn’t know where to find your installation of Blender through file associations, that’s just my guess.
Doesn’t matter how much detail you add to a texture or normal map… if it’s there, it’s there. Better off doing it all up front anyways, in case down the road you want to reuse the asset for something else, and you won’t have to remake it.
I try to export it as .fbx , but I says something about armature not fitting with the scale? Im confused, I dont have any armature in this model O.o
TBH, I’m still figuring out how to do the UV mapping. I make the markers and unwrap it, and save the file, then edit it in photoshop, but I cant really make details, because I cant see where on the image the unwrap thing is at :s

It says that 2.50 - 2.55 dont work, Maybe I have one of those versions i dont know, ill try updating blender.
Some tips:
it is a low poly knife. you should not use a high resolution texture on a low poly knife unless it was tiled. And a tiling texture would not look very good.
get into the black art of uv mapping or ‘skinning’, this will enable you to unwrap the model (it is like unfolding a piece of paper you can draw on) - and then you can use a mix of photos, paint overs and other tricks in the art package to make a stunning texture.
By adding a decent texture of a suitable low ish resolution to suit the size, you could re-use the knife in the game in many places. A character could throw it, or it might be part of the level - sticking out of a wall or dead body for example.
