My game Idea

I wanted to make a video game for some reasons:
1-Making 1500$ a month sucks especially if your boss doesnt like you.
2-I thought it would be fun.

After 2 month I decided to drop the project, why?
1- I am getting more antisocial
2- I am losing my mind
3-You can not make a game on your own. Unless you are familiar with all the tools already, which i am not.
I accept my mediocre life and will go on.

But for now I want to share all that I wanted to do with my game because
1-I have nothing better to do
2- I dont want my imagination to go to waste(it will probably will go to waste but fuck it, hit or miss life)

Genre: First Person Shooter

Title: World War
Or Emergency on planet Cube

Levels

The levels should look like minecraft(I had the idea before seeing minecraft, not like it will ever matter.)

or the game edge

GamePlay

You can only turn in 90 degree angles
You can only move LEFT, RIGHT, FRONT,BACK
You cannot move in diagonals
Essentially you can move like the tower in a chess game
The characters have to stay in a square

You walk quickly like in unreal tournament
You rotate in 90 degree angles very quickly

You can jump.

Whenever you are on a square it lights up like in the Billie Jean Michael Jackson video

Characters

I was thinking(delusionally) to take characters from the real world
I was thinking of putting politicians in here.
Like the presidents of Iran, Israel, Lebanon, North Korea, Russia, I don’t wanna say USA because I am too paranoid and etc.
It would be a real world tournament and everybody in the world could fight against the people they hate.
Iranians could fight against israelis online…
American could fight against North Koreans…
Greek vs germany
I think it would be hirlarious, and maybe therapeutic.

Each character should have voices. Germans would say stuff in german, north koreans would say things in korean…
It would be like the game Red Alert except each camp talks in its own language

I was also day dreaming about putting animals in there that make their own sounds.
ANIMALS VS HUMANS!

Weapons.

I was thinking of making it a super smash bros First Person shooter(It should feel fun like super smash bros)
Where anyone could win, it wasnt only about skills but about skills and LUCK and most of all FUN!
What i mean is that there are elements you can not control that will kill you.
ex: The chess board stage tilts 30 degrees and you fall off the stage and you die.
ex2: A plane comes and bombards the stage
ex3: you can drop items like pokemon balls in super smash bros and weird creatures appear and destroy your enemy.

Now about normal weapons:
1-gun
2-automatic
3-rocket launcher that would make you fall on your ass and if you miss you get killed by someone
4-A rocket that follows you around
5-A weapon that creates small creatures that follow you around and explode when they hit you.

Modes

Essentially it’s a multiplayer First Person shooter with no story.
1-Capture the Flag
2-Deathmatch
3-Team Deathmatch
4…

So now that I’ve written my game I can finally move on.

I think you could take this game somewhere better if it weren’t an FPS. The basic idea is cool though.

As for you not knowing the tools, you think any of us jumped into unity and knew what we were doing immediately? No. You only get good at something by practicing the craft.

Don’t let not knowing tools put you off from learning them. With the game I’m working at the moment, Tangiers, the biggest slow down in production has been me waiting to find someone who knows the different tools: From programming, to art, to animation.
In each case, I ended up forced to do them myself; In each case I then set aside a week in each instance to get to know the correct tools.
Now, I’m entirely [almost, I’m completely devoid of musical talent] self sufficient - My one regret in the project is that I didn’t learn the individual skills months earlier.

Another thing that helps motivation is to put all your ideas down on paper - create a design document, even if it’s just for yourself, and even if you intend to change many aspects of it later on.
Doing so stops the game from merely being an idea, an intention or a half realized dream, and puts down the first steps into turning it into something more fully fledged.

Hope this helps

Alex.

i am going to have my head cool off.
Maybe in the future i wont be as stresed as i am now
