My Overview of Muse Texture & Issues

I’ve been creating YouTube content for a long while now and I created a video on Muse Texture the other day here: https://youtu.be/Pjf4clvXOmk

  • I had a real struggle to get uniform looking tiles
  • I couldn’t easily control the grout colour
  • Is there a way to control roughness for different parts of a texture? Via a prompt?
  • There wasn’t a way to have both a colour texture and the pattern at one time
  • Will there be plans to add a simple colour picker rather than an image input? Or some preset colours for users.

We discussed the color variation issue in the tiles and we will run some more experiments with using both a reference image and pattern at the same time which should hopefully solve that case. Using a color picker would also be quite helpful for many cases.

For controlling the grout color, you can achieve this with prompts in some cases but it is likely not very reliable. Prompt accuracy will improve over time as we continue to train the model. For now you can supply a 2-color reference image, although that is a bit of a pain to create for something with very fine detail. We will discuss this a bit more and see if we can come up with a better solution.

No worries at all, I hope you guys found it useful as I think the things I touched on should be the things that Muse Texture nails out of the gate. As I can see a big usage for precise, tilable textures as a real big plus. Especially for walls, floors and things for common surface types. Especially in the likes of this scene or anything 3D! :slight_smile:
