Even though I saved the file, the program immediately shuts down because the FBX file path is incorrect.

Can you please provide us more detail? Do you mean you have an FBX mesh that has an incorrect path name? Or something else?
It might be best for us to take a look. You can zip your project folder and send it to us at support@speedtree.com.
