My Unity Crashes on Startup

Whenever I click the Unity.exe file on my desktop. Unity starts up then it says that Unity Editor has stopped working. I have tried to reinstall the program several times and that hasn’t worked. I’ve been reading around on the internet and I think it might be something with my registry but I’m not sure. I need some help fast… Thanks

What kind of OS (some flavor of Windows, since it's an exe?) and version of Unity? Why the registry? -- did you have a Pro version before, or Unity2.0? Was it working before and just stopped? Or is this after an update? If not new, what was the last thing you did (install a questionable asset? ... .) Do you mean the shortcut on your desktop, or the unity.exe is actually on the desktop?

Try holding down Alt when starting Unity. It’s probably crashing while trying to load the most recently open project.

If that doesn’t work, review the editor log in [your-home-dir]\AppData\Local\Unity\Editor\Editor.log
