Native DLL in unity editor?

Hi I’m using Unity free (for Android) and my app requires a native plugin (.so) which works great for Android but I can’t get it to load a DLL in the editor (of the same library but compiled to a DLL for windows)…

Can I use native DLLs in the editor for testing during development with the free version?

It’s very restrictive to need to do all testing on a real device.

Any suggestions very welcome.

Wow, for a commercial product it is amazingly difficult to get answers to such simple questions.

Come on Unity support - I’m really starting to question my migration to Unity.

I intend to move to a pro licence soon but if such simple questions can’t find a response then I’m left thinking if I should…

This support forum is mostly community-based. Although some engineers lurk around, it’s the community that answers 99% of all questions so don’t blame Unity for this.

Also, if you want an answer from Unity, send them an email directly.
