I have no clue if this is the correct place to put this, but I’ve nowhere else to turn to i’d say.
Nearly every Unity3D-based game I own (not all, but a large majority) freeze upon opening the game. The games will run fine for about a minute, and then freeze on one frame while everything else continues to work. The sound stays, the game takes input, etc. Basically, the whole game is fine other than being stuck on one frame.
I’ve tried updating my video card drivers, opening the games without audio devices enabled, I looked in Windows Event Viewer to find some sort of error and did not, I checked the log of one of the games with the help of the developer and didn’t find anything, I updated my computer from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I installed the Unity Editor on my C: drive and deleted it off my E: drive, everything.
Just a bit of background on my setup:
I have a C: drive with my OS files and an E: drive with Steam, other programs, basically any non-essential things
My specs are as follows:
Windows 10 x64
NVIDIA GeForce GTX970
Intel Core i5 4590-K CPU
16GB RAM
There are a few games that do work, and so i’ll give a few examples of games that do work and 3 that don’t in case any patterns can be found:
working
TIS-100,
Qbeh-1: The Atlas Cube,
Party Hard,
Zen Bound 2
not working
Infinifactory,
Absolute Drift,
Turbo Dismount,
Read Only Memories,
Catlateral Damage
Any help is appreciated, as I legitimately have no clue what to do at this point.
