Crispy Bacon Games has finished its first free Windows / Mac OS X game, Nebulas Cannons. It’s a top-down arcade-style shooter game where the player controls a spaceship that has twenty different spaceship systems to use in battle. The goal is to gain as many points as possible by terminating hostile ships and space stations.

OR download the desktop version by creating an account at http://www.crispybacongames.com and then logging in to the website to download it.

You can use the credentials guest01@crispybacongames.com and pass01 to log in and play. If you want your stats to be saved, then you can create a free account at http://www.crispybacongames.com and use that to log in.

Note: The web player version performs best in full-screen mode.

this is awesome. really fun. seeing, though, that the game is already out, constructive criticism may not be useful at this point, but i’d have to say, i really really wish there was no fuel. i’d rather be focusing on dodging bullets and flying around really fast. maybe it’s just me, but saving gas annoys me in real life, i dont want to have to do that in my games. besides that, i love it! great job!

Good to hear that. Thanks much for the feedback. Did you see that you could pick up the yellow orbs dropped by destroyed ships to gain more fuel?

Very cool little game! I found the controls counter-intuitive, though. I prefer w to accelerate me in the direction my nose is pointing.

yeah, i did notice. guess i couldn’t dodge bullets and collect fuel at the same time lol.

Fun game.
Is there any way to upgrade your ship so it can take a hit?

I am having fun but can’t seem to break 39 points.
I would suggest;
Increasing the starting fuel a bit.
Adding armour so you ship can take more then one hit (You already have at least 3 types of damage).
Have cloaked ship stop further away from you when the open fire (I ram a LOT of them before they de-cloak).

Updated the game so now the player has health.

I can’t seem to create an account… can I ask how that is done? I entered some info and clicked “create account” but nothing happened.

Looks pretty slick from what I see though. Nicely done.

That was fun!

I liked everything except having to wait for a ‘new game’ every time I got killed. I would have liked to have a bunch of lives, like 5!
