Need a dictionary

I would like to place a dictionary into one of my games. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a database of Websters or something equivalent to it? I have been doing some google searches on my own but have not come up with anything substantial.

You can download public domain(expired copyright) dictionaries from Project Gutenberg. They might have some goofy licence on top of it though so read through all the fine print they add to the top of the document before using it in something commercial.

What do you need from the dictionary? Do you need definitions or just a word list for a word-based game?

Just the word list no definitions. I just need to run a check to make sure the player spelled the word correctly.
